HighJoy.com

HighJoy.com is set up similar to many of the dating sites on the Internet yet it certainly offers something that most don’t. HighJoy is about virtual sex, first and foremost. The site as been designed to work with special dildoes and vibrators that can be controlled by another person over the Internet. This means that you can share your pleasure with a loved one over the miles or even experience it with a perfect stranger. If you think you can jump on to High Joy and perhaps find someone to date, you might be disappointed. The site just doesn’t have the huge membership numbers you will see on other dating sites. However, if you’re looking for “good vibrations,” you might just receive all that you seek. Here’s how it stacked up against our criteria!

When it comes to profile quality, High Joy just doesn’t make the grade. Most the members are without photos and there are even fewer who are “High Joy Enabled” – meaning they don’t even have the special equipment to take part in the featured activity of mutual masturbation. It’s not that they don’t allow you space and ask questions to illicit more answers to round out the depth of your profile. It’s just that many have chosen not to and therefore the marks for this category suffer.

“Even just for the sake of interest, this site is definitely worth a look.”

HighJoy receives full marks for presentation with its purple interface. It’s clean and pleasant and is certainly one of the sites strong points. Search options also score well by allowing proximity searches within the United States. Outside of the country, you’re on your own.

Another area that scores well is quick contact. The focus on “mutual masturbation” really calls for options in this area and High Joy doesn’t disappoint. As a member you can access instant chat, message forums and video messaging. These options, coupled with the use of a sanctioned sex toy, ensure that you will get the most out of instant communications on the site.

The level of free access on the site granted to non-members is acceptable. You can join, check out profiles and even chat in the forum without paying for a membership. If you want to do any instant messaging or engage in the center attraction for the site – the virtual sex – you are required to pay. However, once you join the site, you gain access to all the features free of charge for a limited time so free access for members quickly becomes less of an issue.

High Joy takes a beating on member stats, in large because the focus of the site is so niche. Sure, there are a lot of people looking for online sex, but this site specializes in a particular form of sex. You need to have specialized sex products to get the most from this site and this might be part of the contributing factors leading to a less-robust member list.

You can’t give this site less than full marks when it comes to rating the extra features. It has a number of elements that you might find on other more traditional dating sites such as live chat, message forums, and audio and video enabled messaging. But HighJoy has been built on a specialized product that no other site seems to be offering. If you purchase one of the Doc Johnson High Joy enabled vibrators, you can have someone you know, or a perfect stranger for that matter, control it over the Internet through HighJoy.com. Or you can adjust the speed and rotation, depending on the device, right from your computer desktop for someone else — as long as they have a compatible device attached to their computer. Extra features certainly takes on new meaning at High Joy.

HighJoy.com is free to join and to access all the features for a limited time. If you’re interested, you can purchase one of the vibrators directly from their online store and get right into the action without spending another dime. Even just for the sake of interest, this site is definitely worth a look.

Review of Date.com

I think Date.com was one of the first internet dating sites - it started in 1997 on Valentines Day of all days. It has a lot of people, around 2 million or so - if you believe what you read on their sites.

The membership fee is $24.95 for a month or $50 bucks for 3 months, pretty much the norm. The site also offers a webzine called Date. Info has articles, member spotlights, romance, dating and relationship advise, horoscopes etc. The site offers no tour to experiences the features but the sign up is quick as well as creation of a profile in less than 10 minutes with rather simplistic search capabilities. The site offers no animated tour prior to sign-up other than some text in the about date.com section.

I don’t know if it was just me, but I posted the exact same profile I used on Match.com, same photo, same headline, etc…. I never got 1 email, on Match.com I got 6 emails. I guess the women on Date.com are just more picky!

Date.com does have a couple of cool features I find fun to use. They show you who’s birthday it is just in case you want to say “I have a BIG present waiting for you!” Just kidding!!! You can also see who’s new - another good way to check out the latest babes to join the site. I especially like the women from the Ukraine! My point is, Date.com seems to get a lot of International traffic. Finding a Russian bride would be no problem on this site.

Their “Who’s Online” screen sucks in the fact you have to click on a little camera to see their picture. Too much work for the visually focused male if you ask me.

It’s also cool to show people’s Horoscope (I’m a Virgo BTW), but I don’t get the Chinese Horoscope thing - which states I’m a RABBIT. I’ve been called a DOG before, but never a RABBIT. What does this have to do with anything? Can someone explain it to me?

They have a flirting tool called “Show Interest” which was pretty dissapointing because no one showed any interest in me. Oh well, maybe I should NOT have said I made $25k or less a year in my profile - I didn’t think money mattered ladies!

You can post up to 5 pictures but they make it hard for you to look at all of them. No Next/Prev button on the photo viewer.

They do support local events with their Date Events. From the pictures of the Caribbean Cruise last June, looks like I missed a good time. If you attended, write me and tell me how it was! The only thing about their event system is it does appear to link back to my profile. When I click on a couple of the links, it asked me to log into Date, com, which I was already logged in.

Date.com has a really cool COMMUNITIES area. They have message boards and articles on dating. I love the “Dates From Hell” section. I especailly enjoyed the Chinese take-out story - Barbie we need to add some Communities to our site, some of these stories cracked me up!

All-in-all, Date.com is a cool site. But guys, I think it will be necessary to work your mogo on this site if you expect anyone to notice.
